Recovery and
Re-engagement Programme
For young people aged 16 to 24 experiencing anxiety, emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA), medical absence, SEMH needs or social isolation.
When a young person has stopped attending, the last thing that works is pressure.
What it involves
This programme starts somewhere else entirely, with a relationship, a small achievable step, and someone who turns up consistently and does what they said they would do.
A 12 week intervention focused on confidence, wellbeing, mentoring, community engagement and transition planning. We lead with relationship and trust, at the young person’s pace.
Length: 12 weeks, extendable where required.
Attendance: flexible, typically 1 to 2 days per week or fewer at the start.
What is included
For many young people experiencing anxiety, emotionally based school avoidance, SEMH needs or prolonged absence, returning immediately to education or training can feel overwhelming.
The Recovery and Re-engagement Programme is designed to reduce that pressure. Rather than focusing first on attendance, we focus on connection, safety and trust. Once a young person feels understood and supported, engagement becomes much more possible.
