The challenge

The number of school pupils with an EHC plan has risen 11% in a single year to 483,000, and has doubled since 2016. Requests for EHC needs assessments reached 154,500 in 2024, and only around 46% of new plans are issued within the 20 week statutory timeframe. Alongside rising NEET numbers, the pressure on outcomes and budgets has never been greater.

Our offer

A full pathway from re-engagement through to supported employment and independence, with spot placements available now and capacity growing.

We accept referrals through Local Authority commissioning, EHCP and high needs funding, Virtual School, the Medical Education Team, Youth Justice, DWP and traded services.

  • Recovery and Re-engagement, a 12 week intervention for disengaged young people
  • Transition Hub, centre based provision 2 to 3 days per week with ASDAN and AQA accreditation
  • Step Beyond, a 6 month transition to adulthood pathway
  • Supported internships with job coaching and employer partnerships
  • Outreach and home support for young people who cannot yet attend a centre
  • Family resilience and transition support

Value and Assurance

We report clearly on engagement and progression, and we are ICO registered with full safeguarding, GDPR and governance frameworks in place. Our Dynamic Purchasing System application to Worcestershire County Council has been submitted.

Local Authority referrals typically take 4 to 8 weeks, and EHCP funded placements 6 to 12 weeks, depending on funding and consultation.

Our centre is in Redditch, and we work across Redditch, Bromsgrove, Worcester and wider Worcestershire, with outreach delivered in homes and community venues.
